On this 7-day lodge safari, you will visit Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks, as well as the Serengeti and the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater. Nature and wildlife will be at their best as you travel through breathtaking landscapes on adventurous trails.
Whatever time you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your Easy Travel driver-guide will be there to greet you with a warm smile. Relax in your comfortable vehicle as he transports you to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi Town, Tanzania’s self-proclaimed “safari capital.” On your way to the hotel, you’ll get a taste of this large, bustling commercial city. Your pre-safari briefing may take place today, depending on your arrival time; if not, it will take place early tomorrow morning.
After a morning safari briefing and a 2-hour drive, you will arrive at Tarangire National Park. The wonders of this natural reserve are enhanced by the presence of giant baobab trees, bush savannah, and periodic wetlands. Tarangire National Park is regarded as one of the best sites in the world to see elephants up close. The park is also home to buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests, who are constantly pursued by predators such as lions. Leopards are occasionally sighted, while cheetahs are rarely seen. The open roof of the safari vehicle allows you to take in the scenery and observe the wildlife. In the late afternoon you will leave the park and drive to the Lake Burunge Tented Camp, where you will overnight.
After breakfast, you will depart from Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park. The park’s over 400 bird species, primate-filled woods, and grassy plains are well-known. The alkaline Lake Manyara, which serves as a seasonal nesting place for vast colonies of flamingos and other waterfowl, covers a considerable portion of the park. Giraffes, hippos, wildebeests, impalas, and groups of noisy monkeys and baboons can also be found in the park. After a long game drive, you’ll arrive at the Kirurumu Manyara Lodge, where you’ll spend the night.
After breakfast, you will travel through the cooler highlands to the southern Serengeti, arriving at the Serengeti National Park’s plains around midday. This is Tanzania’s largest park, with a diverse range of habitats and landforms including short grass plains, savannah, heavy bush, swamps, and lakes. Strange rock formations known as kopjes dot the grassy environment, where predators are frequently observed. The Serengeti is well-known for its annual migration of hundreds of thousands of wildebeests and zebras in search of fresh grass and water. You will spend the night inside the park at the Kati Kati Tented Camp.
The entire day is dedicated to game viewing in the Serengeti National Park. The regions you explore will be determined by the location of the migrating herds. Predators such as lions, leopards (among the acacia trees), and cheetahs regularly trail the wandering animals. During the short wet season in November and December, the herds migrate from the highlands to the plains. They migrate north during the lengthier rainy season, which lasts from April to June. Because the migration is entirely reliant on yearly rainfall, the location of the herds may vary from year to year, but your guide will know where to look for the animals and where to get the greatest views. You will spend another night at the Kati Kati Tented Camp.
You will enjoy some more wildlife viewing on your way to the park gate before leaving the Serengeti National Park in the early afternoon to continue your journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The massive caldera below will be seen as soon as you reach the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater – a breathtaking sight. After leaving the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will travel to Karatu in the Ngorongoro highlands. You will take part in a stroll through the coffee plantation to learn more about coffee cultivation and processing. You’ll spend the night at one of three stunning Tanganyika Wilderness Adventure Lodges.
Rise up and shine! After breakfast, you return to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before driving down into the crater. The large collapsed volcano is home to approximately 25,000 creatures, including the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard) as well as spotted hyenas, rare wild canines, and some of the area’s more than 500 bird species. Following an extended game drive and a picnic lunch, you will depart the caldera in the afternoon and return to your Tanganyika Wilderness Adventure Lodge for another night.
You will be picked up from your Lodge and brought directly to the airport, signaling the end of your incredible vacation.
